RUFC - Patterson delighted with Reserve win

Rotherham United Assistant Manager, Darren Patterson thought the Reserve win away at Hull was well deserved.

Speaking to MillersPlayer after the two-one win, where Ben Pringle and Giorgio Williams scored, Darren said, 'I thought the performance, from start to finish, was first class.

'With the ball we cut them open and created a few chances and without the ball it was very good. The senior pro's took the responsibility and the young lads stepped up to the mark, so I couldn't be happier. From one to eleven and even the subs did very, very well.

Speaking about Williams' goal, which he scored in the last minute of the game after coming off the bench, Darren said, 'It was excellent play from Bradders (Mark Bradley) at the back with the pass to the centre-forward to slide him in.

'I'm delighted to have Warney back with his experienced head. It's been a hard road back for him but he's an outstanding professional and a lovely man. We're very pleased for him and it was good that he got eighty minutes under his belt and he was unlucky not to get a goal. But Woggy (Andy Warrington), Dale Tongue and all the senior pro's were first class in their attitude and how they approached the game. This is the start of standard that we'll get something out of and will help to bring on the kids as well.'

Darren also said that Ben Pringle had an excellent game, saying, 'I thought it was probably his best game of the season. His positional sense is improving all the time and his fitness levels are improving all the time and he's working really hard and I thought he was first class.

'Ollie Banks is just coming back from injury. I haven't seen to much of the boy and against very good opposition, he's got some good qualities and the ninety minutes will do him the world of good.'

The Millers Team for the Reserves was

Warrington
Brown
Tonge
Hall
Bradley
Foster
Rose
Banks
Warne (Royles)
Beedham (Williams)
Pringle

Subs not used - Leydon, McKay
