RUFC - Mullins pleased to be back

Rotherham United defender, Johnny Mullins finally pulled a first team shirt on last weekend, albeit for fifteen minutes, for the first time since April and admitted it has been a bad time for him injury wise since joining the Millers.

Speaking to Chris Jackson of The Advertiser, the former Reading and Stockport County player said, 'I`m pleased to be back, despite the defeat, because it`s been a difficult time.`

Johnny suffered a terrible knee injury in training in April, which, at first, was thought would put him out until around Christmas but he`s worked long and hard and has been repaid with an early return.

Saying he needs minutes under his belt to get back to the speed of the game, the twenty-five year old said, 'The result on Saturday was disappointing and not what we wanted. The Manager and Darren Patterson told us what they think and the players are very hurt and disappointed to lose because we consider that we are better than them.

'We don`t want this feeling in the dressing room again after a game so hopefully, it will be a bit of a wake-up call for the team because we`ve dropped our standards recently and you can`t afford to do that in this league.`

Speaking about what he wants, Johnny said, 'The aim is to try and get back as fit as I can and push myself back into the manager`s thoughts. I want to come back in and be part of a successful side.`

Meanwhile, Manager Andy Scott told Les Payne of The Star, 'Johnny is ready and desperate to play but we don't want him to overdo it.'
