RUFC - Scott pleased to see Warney back

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott says that Paul Warne puts him to shame after watching the thirty-eight play for the reserves in mid-week.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Scott said, 'Warney came back which is a big boost for him and for us as well and it was good to see him out there.

'He puts me to shame a little bit. He's a fit lad who looks after himself extremely well and there was never going to be any doubts about his match fitness because he's ridiculously fit.

'It's taken a long time to get his knee right in terms of how we need to manage it but his enthusiasm to do things has been a problem in the past and he was doing too much on it so we've made it clear to him what needs to be done and he's taken that on board and he's now benefiting from that. Hopefully he will be able to continue to train and play at that intensity and be involved with the reserves. And, who knows, if we need him he'll be available.'

Asked about Warney's roll in the reserves, Scott said, 'If you can have someone on the pitch who can organise and talk and make sure things are done properly then that will help the young players through. It's important that we have the pro's on the pitch helping the youngsters out and that's what Warney does.'
