RUFC - Scott - 'two errors cost us'

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott said that it was two poor errors by his team that cost them the game at Port Vale today.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after the two-nil defeat this afternoon, Scott said, 'I think everyone will see that the better side lost today.

'We were dominant for the first fifteen minutes and then let a poor goal in. We had a bit of a wobble from there, got in the game, then let another terrible goal in. But I thought that everyone played well and we just made two individual errors which cost us the game.

'We completely dominated the second half. We had the chances, corners but we didn't have the quality to put it in the final third. The work rate was fantastic but individual errors again have cost us - the first goal Conrad (Logan) shouldn't have got done down that side and the second one Troy (Brown) hasn't touched round and that allowed them to do what they do and the one time that we didn't deal with the second ball they scored.'

'It was just so disappointing because we've been working at setting the wall up and how to do it but the ball squeezed in for the first goal and the second one we've been in six days this week working on it but someone didn't do their job. It's no good people coming and burying their heads in the changing rooms at half-time, it's a man's game and we need men to go and do men's jobs and some people have got to make sure they dig in and stand up and be counted. People aren't playing with consistency at the moment and we've got to make sure that they look at their own performance and make sure that they do it week in, week out.'
