'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Scott 'they were fantastic tonight'

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott thought his team were fantastic tonight even though they lost to Sheffield United in the second round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Speaking after the two-one loss to MillersPlayer, Scott said, 'I was delighted with the way we moved the ball and we got the players that can affect the game on the ball in good areas.

'We conceded a goal with their first shot at goal but we kept going. The second half was in the same vein and we deserved to get the equaliser. After that, Danny Schofield maybe should have scored to put us ahead but I can take a huge amount of positives out of the game.

'Sheffield United played a very strong side and we made a couple of changes. The lads who came in did very well and adapted to the system and gave everything they had. We passed it really, really well and had a lot more possession than people would probably have expected. We got into good positions to get crosses in though the final ball probably could have been better a couple of times but I am very pleased with everyone.

'I though the three in midfield did excellent tonight - Jaybo (Jason Taylor), Danny (Harrison) and Schoey (Danny Schofield). We had a look at Prings (Ben Pringle) and he did excellent and had some good touches on the ball and that was a real bonus for us.

'We were the better side and I think everyone will admit that but, sometimes, you don't get what you deserve in football.'
