'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Scott talks about midfielder

Rotherham United`s Danny Schofield joined the Millers from Millwall in the summer as a midfielder, although Manager, Andy Scott has also tried him in a more central position as well as out wide.

On Tuesday night he played just behind loan striker, Alex Revell, and Scott thinks that it was one of his better games.

Speaking to The Advertiser, Scott said, 'We need to get Schoey higher up the pitch where he`s at his best and where he can affect the game.

'On Tuesday we played Lewis Grabban and Ben Pringle out wide which allowed Schoey to have a little bit more freedom and find areas where we can get the ball and he made some terrific runs. His ability is fantastic and it was a really good performance from him. But, it was a credit to the others as well who got the ball to him.`

Scott also said that he is still learning about the side and how they can cope with different things. 'We tried that formation a couple of times in pre-season and it`s a real option now and we know we can adapt.`

I don't think I've seen Schofield have a bad game since he joined the Millers but thought that position just behind the striker suited him well.
