Rotherham United Nostalgia Society

Rotherham United Nostalgia Society meets on Thursday and this month`s guest speaker is former Miller, Richard Finney

Richard signed schoolboy forms for the Millers at the age of fourteen and two years later was making his reserve team debut, scoring twice against Notts County. Around the same time, Richard was playing for the England Youth side and scored seven times in five games.

Two days after his eighteenth birthday he made his Millers league debut, scoring the Millers goal in a one-all draw against Brentford. Richard scored over seventy-five goals for the Millers in a career that was cut short by injury in 1981, with a lot of people thinking perhaps the best of Richard Finney was yet to come.

The meeting at the Green Dragon, Kimberworth, starts at 8.30pm. All Welcome
