'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Blip or Crisis?

It`s a critical time for Rotherham United Football Club with the current trend of results. If the phone in at BBC Radio Sheffield was taken as a "straw poll" then there are quite a few worried Millers fans.

I`m not advocating action one way or the other, however, as a business man, I wonder how Tony Stewart is viewing the current situation vis-à-vis with his other department manager.

In my opinion I thought it was a bold decision awarding a three-year contract when Andy Scott had a relatively short career marked with some success at Brentford. I`m hoping that Scott will now repay Tony Stewart`s faith in him by turning things round quickly. I don`t think the two signings last week will have come cheaply; however, again he`s backed the manager to the hilt.

Previously we`ve seen Mr Stewart act decisively in parting with Ronnie Moore and yet seemed to drag his heels in replacing him! Then the appointment of Scott was a bolt from the blue, considering some of the names that were supposedly interested according to other media sources.

The end of this free-fall period can only come with the next game. A good result may encourage us to believe this is only a "blip" and not a crisis.

Bring on the next game is what I say.

I've heard a few 'get rid of Scott' since Friday night but I really don't think that's the answer. It doesn't do anyone any good keep changing the manager every few months

Totally agree. A bloke behind us at the last game was blaming "all those folks who wanted to get rid of Ronnie Moore!" Now you know my feelings on that one, sometimes you just have to get rid!!!
