RUFC - Scott 'we got nothing from officials'

Join The Vital Debate

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott bemoaned the fact that his side didn`t get a thing from the officials last night as they fought back from going three behind to get a point against Morecambe at the Globe Arena last night.

The Millers had two penalties given against them in a ten minute spell during the first half and speaking to MillersPlayer, Scott said, 'We didn`t get the rub of the green all night.`

The first penalty Scott said that he thought Andy Warrington caught Lewis Alessandra saying, 'you`ve seen them given, you`ve seen them not given.

'The Jon Harley penalty he definitely got the ball. The referee played on and the linesman gave it and you think, here we go again. The penalty we got straight afterwards was a big boost for us.

'But we didn`t get a thing from any of the officials today. Nick Fenton was climbing all over Chris Holroyd and anywhere on the pitch that`s a foul, he doesn`t give it and doesn`t even look at the linesman, though he didn`t seem interested. I mean the ball`s gone out for a throw-in and the linesman`s ten yards away and doesn`t give it. It was horrific.

'And we are getting them week in, week out.. I`ve spoken to the LMA today about decisions that we`ve had in previous games but they are backing up the referees so it`s clearly obvious that it`s pointless. You have to fill in these referee reports and it`s a waste of time because they don`t do anything about them.`

It was interesting last night that Howard Webb was sat with his family just behind us - and even he was shaking his head at some of the decisions (especially the second pen) Maybe he should fill in Andy Scott's referees report card
