RUFC - Chairman wants ground name for Christmas

Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart is hoping to have a name in place for the new ground for Christmas.

The ground, which is on the old Guest and Chrimes site in the town, is on track to be up and running for the start of next season.

Speaking to Les Payne of The Star, Mr Stewart said, 'We`d like to have decided on a name by Christmas because we have to think that there`s a marketing job to be done in the months ahead so we`ll need a name.

'We are looking for a 'base` name that won`t change but with a prefix that will be the naming rights holder.

'We have invited fans to make their suggestions for a name, indeed, we invite anyone because this will be a Community Stadium not just a football ground and will have uses for commercial, retail, leisure and more than just football. So far names like Waterfront, Waterside, Riverfront have all been tipped into the mix.`

Come on, tell us what you want OUR new ground to be called.
Because it`s n ear to water should it have the word 'water` in it? Or being situated on an old foundry, maybe The Foundry? Or what about having Guest and Chrimes in there somewhere?
Tell us here on Vital Rotherham what you think…
