RUFC - Scott wants 'respect' for League Two

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott says that the Managers` in the lower leagues don`t get the credit they deserve.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser, Scott said, 'Players, coaches and managers in our division deserve a lot more respect than what they get.

'Everyone looks at League Two as the basement but there`s some excellent quality here and I would say that managers work harder at this level than any other because they have to do more diverse jobs and cover the whole spectrum of it.. That`s why I have a lot of respect for all the managers in this league and the players as well, because they have to graft.

'They get labelled with the same brush as all the ones in the top flight, the ones earning up to 40,000 a week, when some of the lads in the league are struggling to get by. Yes, some earn good money but there are others who are grafting to get their win bonus or their appearance money to make their life better. And, when you are giving your all every game, which players at this level do, you don`t get any prima donnas.

'I know how tough League Two is and I`m not going to be saying we should be beating whoever because that`s disrespectful. There are no gimmies in League Two. You have to be on top form to be better than the other team. We are here to win games and we try to win every time we play.`
