RUFC - Scott Pleased with Win

RUFC - Scott Pleased with Win

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott was pleased to get his first win in ten games after beating Aldershot Town this afternoon at Don Valley but admitted it wasn`t pretty.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after the win today, Scott said, 'We got the job done and yes, we want to play better, but it was all about the win today.

'Performances before this would probably merit three points and we haven`t got them but I never felt we were in trouble today. We created a few chances and had plenty of energy and there was a real togetherness out there and a desire not just to win the game but to keep a clean sheet as well. People were putting their bodies on the line and heads in the way of shots when they were throwing people forward so I am delighted for them because they`ve worked extremely hard and have got their rewards.

'We know we can play better and we want to but we also want to win games.

'At two-nil it`s always a little bit suspect and a third would have been nice but we were never really in danger. For fifteen minutes in the second half we stopped, thinking it was going to be easy but then we started to get it wide and did better.

'The win was excellent today but I`m doubly pleased because of the clean sheet.`
