RUFC - Scott has nothing but praise for Harrison

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott has already explained why midfielder, Danny Harrison got the skippers armband on Saturday against Aldershot - basically because Alex Revell says he had a 'cr*p' record as captain! - but Scott also says that Harrison does 'all the scruffy stuff.`

Harrison, who joined the Millers from Tranmere Rovers in 2007, is the Millers fifth player to be given the captain`s armband this season - the others being club skipper, Ryan Cresswell, Michael Raynes, Johnny Mullins and Revell.

Speaking about the Millers midfielder, Scott told Les Payne of The Star, 'He understands the game and is a player I`ve always liked. He is appreciated by the team and does all the scruffy stuff though people don`t always see what he does. He is a valuable type of player and a lad who is confident in his own ability which he dilutes into the rest of the squad in the dressing room.

'We`ve got leaders in the side, those people who have had the armband, as well as such as Jason Taylor, Dale Tonge, and now we`ve got in Guy Branston and Jon Harley. But you don`t really want to be giving the captaincy to loan players although they are both leaders in various ways.

'To be honest, whether a player is captain or not is neither here nor there. You should have enough leaders in a team and everybody should be responsible for organising and making sure people are doing their jobs.`
