'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Headache at the back for Scott?

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott has to find someone to fill the boots of defender Guy Branston for the next two games.

The club knew that big Guy wouldn`t be available for the game against his parent club, Bradford City but had hoped (though it was a slim one I think) that they would let him play for the Millers in the FA Cup game against Barrow. But, the answer, from the West Yorkshire club was, 'no`.

Luke Foster and Jason Taylor played alongside Branston in the win against Aldershot on Saturday and it could be that Johnny Mullins, who was on the bench, will slot in there.

Of course, it could be that Michael Raynes is fit enough to play some part in the game and there is also Troy Brown, who seems to have been the 'forgotten man` since having time away from the club to go on International duty with Wales.

Another problem is that Jon Harley hasn`t yet been given permission from his parent club, Notts County, to play in the Cup game. If that is also a 'no` then Tom Newey will probably get the nod.

I know the saying goes that the 'FA Cup game is a rest from the league` but, personally, for the Millers, I think this game has come at the wrong time. After getting a first win in ages on Saturday I really do think it`s a pity we aren`t playing another league game just now.

But, that isn`t to say that I wouldn`t love us to have a good cup run!
