'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - View from the Opposition - Barrow

Rotherham United might have left it late on Saturday to win their FA Cup first round tie against Barrow, but Manager, Andy Scott said, after his side came from one down to win two-one, it was one of the things that proved his team has the character to come back.

Meanwhile, Barrow joint-Manager, Dave Bayliss, thought his team didn't deserve to lose.

Speaking to the North-West Evening News, Bayliss said, 'The lads are devastated but we couldn't have asked any more of them.

'We created chance after chance in the first half and tore Rotherham apart. We definitely deserved something out of the game, at least a replay.'

Bayliss wasn't impressed with referee James Adcock, and bemoaned the fact that the gave the Millers a penalty which Lewis Grabban put away for the winning goal. 'I don`t like moaning about referees,' Bayliss said, 'but there was an instance in the first half when Louis Almond was clean through and big Rotherham defender Guy Branston pulled him back. Even though Louis has not gone down he was still fouled in the process. The referee said to me at half-time that it was a penalty, so I asked why he never gave it. He said because Louis never went down. For Rotherham`s first goal Branston, who shouldn`t have been on the pitch, was offside in the build-up and their second goal, the penalty, when Smith was adjudged to have handled the ball, was one or two yards outside the box, even there players have said that at the end.'
