RUFC - Chairman 'name will be good'

Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart says that there are more sponsorship deals on the way for the new ground.

The West Stand in the new ground is to be sponsored by Eric Twigg Foods in a deal that will see the Pukka Pies brand above the new stand for at least three years and Mr Stewart said that there are more deals in the pipeline.

Mr Stewart said he was delighted that the Twigg family have sponsored one of the stands. 'They have been associated with Rotherham United for many years and he's also a friend of the club and a friend of mine and it's nice to get the following from Eric and his company.'

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Mr Stewart said, 'Our Head of Commercial Steve Lewis is in discussions with interested parties, and we have had a lot of people interested, and I am sure he will be busy up to Christmas and beyond.

'There are a lot of business people in Rotherham and I'm sure they will come along and see what's happening here. I think it's incredible. Coming into Rotherham along Centenary Way it's a big sight to see and it's a lot to take in and it's even bigger when you're on site. I'm very happy with the way the building work is going. It seemed to be a long time when nothing was happening but we've now witnessed, over the last four or five weeks, how the structure is coming together and it's dynamic.'

Speaking about a name and naming rights for the new stadium, Mr Stewart said, 'We have some thoughts and ideas, I have had texts and emails and we have had some good suggestions. I think we are a few weeks off until we announce it - but it will be good.'
