RUFC - Decision Weekend

RUFC - Decision Weekend

In my opinion this coming weekend is getting more and more important in the future of our season. We asked if it was a blip or crisis and was never really sure what the answer to that was.

Next up are Bradford, 21st in the division to our 14th.

Now since 10th September we`ve drawn against Accrington (17th), Torquay (12th), Shrewsbury (4th) Morecambe (5th) and Northampton (20th). Lost to Southend (1st) Port Vale (10th) Burton (8th) and Bristol Rovers(16th). Some mixed results but, roughly 25% of the season where we won only 5 points. If you expect to beat those below you, you`d be generous and say we`ve only dropped 8 points.

The cup win takes one weekend away for the next round in December and leaves four league games up to that great watershed of Christmas. And, as they always say, you have an idea of who are challenging at Christmas! Since he came in April, Andy Scott`s assembled his own full back room team around him and has had the majority of the side in for a pre-season and on in to the meat of season. What we would hope to see a well-oiled unit working cohesively together and competing with teams at the top

So let`s be bold! We`ll say in no uncertain terms what we expect. We currently have 24 points and are 5 points off 8th place. The minimum I think we ought to expect, if we`re going to challenge is 8th place at Christmas. Therefore this week is a must win. Less than a win and we are in a crisis.

The ball is now firmly in your court team Millers, go out and prove that your blip is now consigned to the past and the crisis is our worst nightmare yet to come.

I know that, with the start of the season going so well, there were a few pessimists saying 'there's only one way from here...' - maybe they were right? Someone said to men on Saturday that it looks like we will be in League Two when we go into the new ground. And I thought, blimey it's only November! And then I thought, blimey, it's already November.
