'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Scott on players in and players out

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott was impressed with trialist David Elebert, who featured in the Reserves win over Scunthorpe on Monday afternoon at Parkgate.

Speaking to MillersPlayer Scott said, 'We'll have another look at him on Monday.

'Considering he hadn't trained with the lads and just turned up for the game he did well and so we'll be looking at him again next week.. He's had a few games in the SPL (Scottish Premier League) and has a good pedigree there.'

The Republic of Ireland defender is a free agent after being let go by Hamilton Academical at the end of last season and Scott said, 'As far as I'm aware we can sign anyone who isn't contracted to a club but we will confirm that and make sure we are available to sign people. It's an option for us and whether it happens or not is another matter. We may leave it until January and get him in then or we might get other people in and review the squad then.

'There may be people going out before the window closed on the 24th which will enable us to sign other players. There's probably two or three that need to go and get games and play regularly and then come back here in January and see if they can work their way back into the first eleven. The names have been handed out and with the reserve games people have been coming to watch them play.'

Asked about his brother, Rob, who is joint-manager of Grimsby Town and a frequent visitor to the Millers' Reserve games, Scott said, 'Yes, he wants the players we don't want to let go! He was on the 'phone yesterday but there are a lot of clubs round this area who will be interested in players and we've got some good players who need to get out and get games.'
