'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - View from the Opposition - Bradford City

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott was delighted with his teams win over Bradford on Saturday.

'We've been outstanding all game,' Scott said after the three-two win.

But Bradford City Manager, Phil Parkinson was disappointed with the result. After going behind to a twenty-two minute penalty, the Bantams equalised to go in all-square at half-time. Twelve minutes into the second half saw the Millers make it three-one but, just as the game went into time added on, the referee saw a hand-ball and Michael Flynn scored the resulting penalty. A minute later the ref, who must count hand-balls in his sleep, saw another one. This time, Conrad Logan did well to save the spot kick and send the Millers fans home both relieved and happy.

'We couldn't have asked for anything more than to get two penalties at the death,' Parkinson said. 'Flynny is normally reliable but unfortunately he just hasn't quite struck it well enough that time and the 'keeper has made a comfortable save in the end.

'I thought we played well in the first half and it was end-to-end stuff but for the first fifteen minutes of the second half I don't think our back four coped with their forward players. When we found ourselves three-one down we knew, after that, it was going to be a tall order.'
