RUFC - Conrad delighted with penalty save

Rotherham United goalkeeper, Conrad Logan was delighted after his last minute penalty save helped the Millers get all three points at the weekend.

Speaking to MillersPlayer after he had helped his team beat Bradford City on Saturday, the twenty-five year old, who faced two penalties in three minutes, said, 'I've never faced two penalties in that short space of time before. I fancy myself on penalties and it's a chance to be a hero. He hit the first one down the middle and I just tried to psych him out for the second one and, thankfully, it came off. I'm not sure if the first one was a penalty or not but that's the way it goes. To be fair, for the second, the guys had a great strike and I don't think Tom Newey could do much about it

'The pressure was on him. It's the last minutes and he's at home and I wanted to put as much pressure on him as I could and I read where he's going and managed to get there. You can't write a script like it and I was delighted but sometimes you'd much rather go through a season nice and consistent and no-one even knows you're there. But, it's part and parcel of goalkeeping - you'll make mistakes and you'll make good saves. And everyone makes mistakes. It's how you respond and I'd like to think that I'm mentally strong enough to respond from anything and when I get a few plaudits to try and keep my feet on the ground and just crack on.

'I think we were the better team today. It's a big stadium and they have a lot of fans and they were sucking the ball in in the last few minutes. They put the big men on and they were launching it. I thought we looked very fit and we were first to second balls and we were chasing people back and getting blocks in and, not to be complacent, but I thought we were comfortable at three-one.'

Asked about his future with the Millers, Conrad, who is on loan from Leicester City said, 'I'm enjoying playing here and I'm here, initially, until the 31st December, and with Leicester having a new manager I can't really say what will happen.'
