'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Loanee grateful to Scott

Rotherham United loanee, Sam Wood was described earlier this week as a 'pocket dynamo` by Millers Assistant Manager, Darren Patterson but the twenty-five year old said he wasn`t that happy with his first performance on Saturday.

Speaking to Dom Howson of The Star, Sam, who is on loan from Brentford, said, 'I was disappointed with my performance and I have a lot more to give than what I produced on the day.

'There were a few aspects of my game that I wasn`t happy with and I didn`t get on the ball as much as I`d have liked. It was nice playing in a competitive match again but I know that I have a lot more to give.`

Speaking about the loss on Saturday, Sam said, 'We had the most chances but we could not take them and paid the price. They only had two or three opportunities and took them.`

Sam has worked with Manager, Andy Scott before at Brentford and he says that he is grateful to him, saying, 'Andy has given me the chance to play games and that is all you want to do as a footballer. It gets into your head when you train during the week and don`t play on Saturdays. I`m very grateful to Andy for giving me a chance to come here and play games again.`
