RUFC - Brett the new Alfie?

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott thinks he has finally found a replacement for Adam Le Fondre in Brett Williams.

Brett, who was twenty-four yesterday, joined the Millers, on loan, from Reading, when Alfie went the other way but has been dogged with injuries since he arrived, resulting in him going back to his parent-club for treatment. But the lad is now back with the Millers and scored his first goal on Saturday.

Speaking to Dom Howson of The Star, Scott said, 'Brett has always scored goals, whether that has been for Eastleigh or Reading`s reserves. He has a knack that Alfie had where he gets in the right place at the right time. Sometimes you don`t see him in training then, all of a sudden, he pops up and scores five goals. He is a bit of a 'Johnny-on-the-spot.

'He`s got tremendous ability and he was disappointed with the one-on-one miss last week but his finish for the goal was top drawer. It was a terrific goal and if it had been in the Premiership everyone would have been lauding it.

'When he first came here he was feeling the injury and it was hampering his performances but he`s comeback strong and is enjoying his football now. His partnership with Alex Revell is starting to pick up and we are hoping that it will continue. '
