RUFC - Scott on the sending off

Join The Vital Debate

Rotherham United had to play all of the second half with only ten men after Marcus Marshall was sent-off on forty-four minutes for a second bookable offence this afternoon against Shrewsbury Town.

After admitting that he couldn't remember what Marshall's first yellow card was, speaking to Radio Sheffield after the game, Millers Manager, Andy Scott said, 'We`ve given the ball away in a ridiculous area. We`re one-nil up with two or three minutes left and we hit a soft ball to Grabbs (Lewis Grabban), who slipped and they went on the counter-attack.

'Marshy`s got caught on the back foot and come across him, brought him down and it`s a sending off.

'Marcus started well. I thought he did well. He was pretty good going forward but I thought we didn`t really help out the back-four or midfield players much in terms of our work-rate.'

I thought the first yellow was very harsh although, the second, in my opinion, was probably a booking
