'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Wood wants more goals

Rotherham United loanee Sam Wood scored his first goal in fourteen months on Saturday which also happened to be the only goal of the game to give the Millers all three points.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser, Sam, who is on loan from Brentford, said, 'Hopefully, there will be more to come.`

Millers Manager, Andy Scott has told the twenty-five year old to shoot-on-sight and Sam said, 'The gaffer has encouraged me to get in and around the box and we do a lot of shooting practice in training which paid off.

'I didn`t realise it had gone in until I turned round and Lewis Grabban was already celebrating. It`s a great feeling when you score and all the lads were around me and it gets everyone going.`

Sam is with the Millers until January with Andy Scott already indicating that he`d like to try and get him for longer and Sam said, 'I want to play football wherever it may be. At the moment I`m a Rotherham player so that`s my main focus.`
