'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Scott 'Wood is a team player'

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott says that the Millers' newest loanee, Sam Wood is 'a real team player'.

Speaking to Les Payne of The Star, Scott said, 'Sam epitomises what every fan who wants to play for their club would like to do if they could get on the pitch. He`s tenacious, aggressive, got ability, hard working and he really loves it. The fans see that and see what they`re getting. '

Sam began his football with non-league Cray Wanderers before moving to Bromley where he made over one hundred appearances. Having trials with various clubs, Sam joined Brentford in 2008 where he got various awards including the 'Supporters Player of the Year'.

Andy Scott signed the twenty-five year old on a months' loan and has made no secret of the fact that he'd like to try and get him for longer.

'Sam is someone who appreciates being involved in professional football,' Scott carried on, 'He`s done a proper job so he knows what it`s like to work during the day and then go off training at night and play non-league football at the weekend. He used to be on the terraces and watch and now he just loves the fact he`s playing. He relishes the opportunity he has got and he enjoys it and that enthusiasm rubs off on people.'
