RUFC - Scott pleased to see Evans back

Rotherham United fans were surprised to see Gareth Evans in the starting eleven this afternoon after sustained a serious foot injury last month which was thought would keep him out until the middle of January.

Twenty-three year old played seventy-five minutes this afternoon and Scott said, 'Evo coming back and playing was a big boost for us and credit has to go to Mike and Denis and him and the fitness coach because when he was out injured the fitness was being got into him.

'He said he felt well in training although in fairness, it probably took forty-five minutes for him to get into it. But, we wanted to give him a go and there was a little bit of rustiness in the first half but he looked more of a threat in the second half and more like his old self and I`m pleased that he`s back.`
