RUFC - Defender would be happy to stay

Rotherham United loanee, Jon Harley is unsure what his immediate future holds.

The thirty-two year old, who is on loan until the first week of next month from Notts County, seemed as pleased as punch after helping the Millers keep a second clean sheet in a row on Monday at Macclesfield told The Advertiser that, if everything worked out and he could stay, then he`d be happy with that.

'But, it`s not as straight forward as that,` the former England Under twenty-one defender said. 'Honestly, I don`t know what will happen over the next few days. It would been nice to stay on but my priority is the next two games against Cheltenham and Bradford and then we`ll see what happens.`

Millers Manager, Andy Scott, has already said he`d like to keep the ex-Chelsea player and Jon said, 'The priority was to come and play games and I`ve done that. I`ve enjoyed my football, the company of the lads and coaches and being around the place. The fans have been fantastic as well.`

Jon originally joined the Millers on a one month emergency loan which was extended until January, and has made ten appearances.

Personally, I hope we manage to hold onto him because I believe he`s been a calm influence at the back since he came.
