'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - View from the Opposition - Bradford City

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott was quite happy with his side`s second half performance against Bradford City on Monday afternoon at Don Valley.

But, City Manager, Phil Parkinson berated the officials for giving the Millers a penalty, that he said, never was.

Speaking to Radio Leeds, after the Millers three-nil win, Parkinson said, 'A couple of decisions in the second half have cost us. The first one was never a free-kick that led to the first goal, though don't get me wrong, we have to deal with that better, but the penalty decision was a joke. The linesman was only ten yards away and didn't get involved in it. Clearly he could see it wasn't a penalty. Not one of their players appealed, the crowd didn't even appeal and the ball has ricocheted off the centre-forward and out of play. It was never a penalty and the ref has made a mistake. I don't mind if mistakes happen but he's got other officials around him who can help him and I think he's been let down by his linesman today.

'Two-nil down was always going to be hard and the third goal was poor from our point of view but we didn't deserve to lose this game three-nil. I thought the first half was even, well, we probably shaded it. We are bitterly disappointed to lose this game but you have afternoons like today when decisions go against you and you can't do anything about it.'
