RUFC - Schofield wants to score more

Rotherham United`s Danny Schofield is disappointed that he`s only managed one goal since being with the Millers and says that he is doing more shooting practice to try and rectify this.

The thirty-one year old joined the Millers in the summer from Millwall managed to score over forty goals when he was at Huddersfield, early in his career while helping out with a few for Yeovil and Millwall.

Speaking to Dom Howson of The Star, Doncaster born Danny said, 'I am disappointed I have not scored more but it is not really come together at Rotherham but I might be doing more shooting practice in the New Year.`

Andy Scott moved Schofield to the middle of the park from his normal left wing position in the second half of the game on Monday against Bradford and Danny said, 'I was quiet in the first half but I think once I got in the middle I started to create things. We have got a good squad but when you`ve got injuries you`ve got to fill in. Danny (Harrison) was injured so I had to move into the middle. You have to adapt quickly and I think I am getting more used to that position now.

'I feel when I have played in the centre I have had to focus more on my defensive duties so I have not got forward as much but to be honest, I don`t care where I play as long as I`m in the team and I think a lot of players in their thirties do change positions. You have to be a bit more disciplined in the middle and have to keep your shape and try to protect the back four. When you play out wide you have more freedom.`
