RUFC - Sarll wants experience for Youth players

Rotherham United's Head of Player Development, Darren Sarll is hoping to get second-year youth striker Alec Denton some work experience.

Speaking to the Official Site* Sarll said, 'It's about this time that we like to get our second year players out to clubs, giving them some exposure of senior football and we are in the process of trying to get Alec some work experience with North Ferriby United, although, as yet, nothing has gone through.

'Everyone needs that exposure and even if the lads are at different levels it's important they see that side of the game, and realise the consequences of their actions in a match. It gets them ruffed up a bit and hopefully they come back stronger.'

Playing non-league football himself, Sarll said, 'I know how I felt when youth team players came in and messed up our game, but it's vitally important for their progress.'
