RUFC - Defender on his move to Millers

Rotherham United's latest loan signing, Scott Griffiths says he is very pleased to have joined the Millers.

Speaking to MillersPlayer after signing until the end of the season from Peterborough, the twenty-six year old said, 'I've spoken to Andy Scott, though not actually met him yet, and he spoke to my agent and here I am.'

Scott said that he first heard about the Millers' interest in him at the start of the season, but he'd already got other plans in place, but then heard about the renewed interest a few days ago, and said, 'Everything has been done fairly quickly and I came up last night to sort things out.

'It's been a bit of a journey for me this season. I started at Peterborough training and then I had a month on loan at Crawley went back to Peterborough and then had a month loan at Chesterfield. Now I'm out on loan here but it will be nice to be able to stay in one place for a change. It makes you a bit tired travelling up and down and all over the place so to have some stability will be nice.'
Scott was asked if he thought a long term move to the Millers might be on the cards, and he replied, 'It's up to the manager. I haven't played under him yet but if he likes the way I play then it could well be. The gaffer has said that he wants us to get to the play-offs and we will be trying our best to do that.'

Asked what he would bring to the Millers, Scott said, 'Although I might not show it all the time, I feel like I'm an attacking player but I can also do a job defending as well. '

Scott spent his Youth career with Southend and played for non-league Aveley before joining Dagenham and Redbridge in 2004. He played over two hundred games for the Daggers until going on loan to Peterborough and making the move permanent in January 2010. Since joining the Posh he has had two loan spells with Chesterfield and also went on loan to Crawley. Scott also played two games for the England C side.
