'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Scott delighted to have Sam back

Rotherham United have now confirmed that all the T's have been crossed and the I's have been dotted so that Sam Wood can rejoin the Millers, on loan, until the end of the season.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Millers Manager, Andy Scott says that it's a great boost for the team. 'It's a fantastic deal we've got,' Scott said.

'It took a little bit of courage on my part to make it happen because we didn't think it was going to work out but sometimes you take a gamble and it pays off. Brentford could quite easily have kept him there but they realised that he was surplus to requirements. He wants to go out and play games and they want him to go out and play games so they have been fair with him.

'He's done ever so well at both left-back and left-midfield and will give us options as well as the ability to come in and play. He's fit, he's strong and has given us something extra which I think you saw at Bradford where he was able to make things happen for us. And these are the sort of players we want.

'I offered him a longer deal but financially we can't compete with a League One club and the wages he's on there so I can understand his situation but this probably gives everyone the best opportunity to happen in the summer if it's something we want to do but the immediate focus is from now until the end of the season. If that works out well then there is no reason why it can't be extended until next year.'

The winger-cum-defender originally joined the Millers in November until January playing seven games and scoring the only goal in the win over AFC Wimbledon last month.

All at Vital Rotherham want to welcome Sam back!
