'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Scott 'Griffiths will fit in perfectly'

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott says that defender, Scott Griffiths will bring some stability at the back.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield, Scott said, 'He knows what it's like to get promoted having done it with Dagenham and Chesterfield.

'He's had a bit of a tough time of late. Peterborough paid a lot of money for him and it didn't quite work out for him there and he's been a little bit in limbo. He went to Crawley for a month and did very well helping them keep something like five clean sheets. He then went to Chesterfield and did well again.

'He had a long time at Dagenham and did very well. He's an intelligent lad and knows his football but, at the moment, he's been in the difficult position where you are training but nothing to aim for on a Saturday afternoon. But he had the desire to go out and play football, which I like, and he will fit in perfectly with what we do. He understands the game and how we want to do things, he's tenacious and he'll be a good addition for us and bring the continuity that we need at the back.

'It's an opportunity for him to come here and play twenty-odd games and establish himself. His future at Peterborough is going nowhere so he's going to be available and, if things go well, it's something we can look at for next year.'
