'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Revell 'we are all disappointed'

Rotherham United striker, Alex Revell says that once you give away goals you are always going to be struggling but, also says that you can take encouragement from the game thinking about where Swindon are in the league.

Speaking to MillersPlayer after the defeat on Saturday to Swindon at Don Valley, Alex said, 'I thought we started OK and were the better team. But to concede two goals as quick as that means you are having to fight for everything to get back into the game.

'We played a lot better in the second half and we probably deserved more but if you give away the goals in the first half, like we have done a few times this year, then you are always going to be struggling to win the game.

'We had it against Bradford where we were lethargic in the first half but came out for the second and scored three goals and it`s happened again today. The first fifteen minutes were OK but after that we were chasing the game. We`ve got to cut that out because we`ve got to make every game count now to get into that top six. We are all disappointed because we all believe we are good enough to get there but, for some reason, at the minute, in the first half we haven`t shown it.

'The gaffer prepares us and Patto (Darren Patterson) prepares us to go out and play a game. We train hard all week and we`ve got to take that into a Saturday.

'It was a tough game but I thought the two centre-halves, Mulls (Johnny Mullins) and Jaybo (Jason Taylor) have dealt with them really well today. They had two shots in the first half and scored two. In the second half we were a totally different side and we played football how we want to play.

'Chris (Holroyd) has done magnificently well today and was a danger to them. Grabbs (Lewis Grabban) hit the post and I had a header that I put over from a corner so we had enough chances to get back in the game but we shouldn`t have been in that situation in the first place.

'There are disappointed fans out there and we are all disappointed as well because things aren`t as good as we want them to be. We`ve got to take a look at ourselves now and come back and get ready for Saturday and show people that we are good enough. It`s going to be a tough week.`
