RUFC - Revell doesn't blame fans for booing

Rotherham United striker, Alex Revell says that he didn't think the booing after the loss to Swindon Town on Saturday by the fans, was harsh.

The Millers played perhaps the worst forty-five minutes of the season in the first half at Don Valley on Saturday, although, to be fair, until Town's first goal went in, I thought we'd done OK. In the second half it was like a different team had appeared from the tunnel - and it isn't the first time this season that the Millers have only played for forty-five minutes.

Speaking to The Star, Revell, who scored a consolation goal for the Millers said, 'At the end of the day, people come and pay good money to come and watch us play. The fans are desperate for the team to do well and so are we so I don't think the fans booing was harsh at all.

'The manager can only do so much. He trains us during the week and when we go out on the pitch we try to enforce his beliefs. We have got some good management staff at the club and they prepare us thoroughly for every single game but as soon as we go over the white line, it is nothing to do with the gaffer. It is down to us then.

'It's down to us to prove to the people who pay their money and come to support us that we have the fight and desire to win and we owe the manager a good performance on Saturday against Port Vale.'
