'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - It will always be The New York Stadium

Rotherham United insist that the 'New York` name for the new stadium is here to stay.

While other clubs have sold their stadium name to the highest bidder Rotherham United say that isn`t going to happen with their new stadium.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser, Head of Commercial, Steve Lewis said, 'To offer stadium naming rights at a particular figure per annum does help, but New York allows so much more than just an up-front sponsorship naming fee.

'We are in the process of extending our merchandise on the back of the name and we are speaking to the politicians 'across the water` to get their involvement. We don`t need valuation because we have that with the stadium being in the New York area of Rotherham. The history is there for everyone to read.

'The stadium will be called The New York Stadium for as long as it`s standing.`
