RUFC - Barrie Claxton dies

Former Rotherham United Assistant Manager, Barrie Claxton has sadly passed away.

Besides being Assistant Manager, Barrie was also served the club as Chief Scout, Youth Coach and Physio.

Barrie joined Leeds United as an amateur at fifteen years of age and also played for Sheffield United but injuries cut his career short although he did play for various non-league clubs.

In 1969 Barrie was appointed as the Millers Chief Scout and he also became the Youth Coach and throughout the 1970's and 1980's he was caretaker Manager several times and was assistant to Emlyn Hughes and Ian Porterfield.
