RUFC - 'Marcus needs to play competitive games'

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott says that he has sent Marcus Marshall out on loan to get some games under his belt and to see if he is going to be an asset to the club.

Speaking to the Official Site after Marcus`s move to Macclesfield Town on a month`s loan, Scott said, 'Marcus had his ankle injury over Christmas and it has been a stop/start season for him.

'We need him to get out and get some competitive games in so we can see if he`s going to be a force for this club. He hasn't taken the chances he has had with us at the moment, so this is a good opportunity for him to get some games elsewhere and for him to learn what is required to get into our first team. And, with Kieron (Cadogan) coming in this will obviously restrict his chances here so it was a good deal for everybody.`

Marcus joined the Millers, originally on loan, from Blackburn Rovers in 2010, making the loan permanent in June of that year. He has played over fifty games for the Millers, scoring his first league goal against Northampton in a two-all draw.
