'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Scott on Pringle and Williams

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott said they are no further forward regarding striker Brett Williams.

'We are still contacting Reading about Brett and see if we can extend the loan or whether he goes back to spend the rest of the season there and it's a conversation we need to have.

'We have agreed with Chelsea that Rhys can stay with us until the end of the season. I think he's done well since he's been here and he'll get better with the games.'

Asked about Ben Pringle who Scott brougt in during the summer and has only made a handful of appearances for the first team, Scott said, 'I've had a good chat with Prings this week. I think there's been problems fitting him into the side with how he wants to play. There's no doubt he's got ability but it's about work off the ball and understanding what's required of him which has been lacking. We are working on that and I think we are at a point where he's realised that he needs to improve to get into the side. He's been working very hard in training and is fitter, stronger and quicker than he ever was. He played very well on Monday and I told him this week that that was the Ben Pringle that I knew and what I wanted. I think he's been trying to show how good he is in the reserve games rather than prove how he can fit into how the team plays. That's all experience and he's a player who has ability and who we want to involve in the first team. I'm sure that will happen quickly now the penny has finally dropped and we've come to some middle-ground between him, me and the way that we do things that will work for all of us. That's great and if he can come back into the squad and have an effect then it's terrific.'
