'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Scott 'It's not clicking'

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott said that 'we are all frustrated and disappointed` after the Millers threw away a goal lead this afternoon.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after the loss to Dagenham and Redbridge today, Scott said, 'We dominated the first half and should have been home but, for their goals, we didn`t deal with two set pieces and shot ourselves in the foot. We had loads of chances. The 'keeper made a couple of saves and they blocked it on the line, Grabbs (Lewis Grabban) had a one v one and should have scored, loads of chances. In the second half we had chances too. We had enough chances today to win three games.

'If we`d played in the second half like we did the first then we`d have won the game comfortably. We knew they were going to chuck everything at us and we gave them a little bit of light and they took it. We gave them a life-line with cheap goals and then it`s easy for them to hang onto it.

'Their first goal was ridiculous. He came on the back post and we just let it go and the third goal was just across his marker and they scored again. We`ve got to attack the ball in their box and defend in your box and we didn`t take our chances and we didn`t defend properly from set-pieces.

'It`s not clicking at the moment. Going forward we`re causing a lot of problems and you`d fancy Grabbs to take at least two of the chances he`s had.

'The performance in the first half was as good as we`ve performed for a while and the second half, well. If you look at it we`ve had fifteen minutes in the whole game when we haven`t played well and it`s cost us the game.

Can't keep saying "it's not clicking". Are the players up to carrying out his instructions or is he asking too much of them or not making his coaching points with clarity. We don't know, we're not on the coaching pitch. I do know that across facebook now fans are asking questions. It's not getting better!

No disrespect to John Still and Dagenham, but they are the worst team I've seen this season - which doesn't say an awful lot for us does it
