'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Scott 'we aren't kidding ourselves'

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott says that the team 'aren't kidding themselves' and that they know they have to pick points up.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Scott said, 'We should have picked points up last week. By half-time we should have been home and dry and we had opportunities in the second half. The 'keeper made some good saves and there were a couple of good blocks but you have to be mentally strong to continue doing what we are doing and to lose to two set-piece goals sticks the knife in.

'It's a difficult one to swallow but we take the positives that we created chances and that we played pretty well for the majority of the game. Things just seem to be going against us at the moment but we'll keep working hard and believing we are doing the right thing, knuckle down and keep going.

Speaking about the two players who made their debut last Saturday, Scott said, 'Richard Naylor came in and for sixty or seventy minutes I thought he looked like a player who could really influence us although he tired a little towards the end.

'I thought Kieron Cadogan was excellent although he faded away towards the end. He's settled in nicely and he got himself in good areas. He was direct and at set-pieces was very good. He's got the ability to put balls in the box and he understands the game. Coming from Palace to play in a similar way makes it a lot easier.

'I was generally pleased that the work rate and the desire to get a result was there from every single player and we just need to keep that commitment and keep pushing on.'
