RUFC - Fingers Crossed for Saturday's Game

Rotherham United players, management and fans will all be keeping an eye on the weather before Saturday's game with Torquay.

Having done very well so far (fingers crossed, touching black cats) and having had no games called off due to the weather this season, the forecast isn't that great for the next few days here in South Yorkshire. It has been very frosty over the last couple of nights and, according to the weathermen, there is more of the same to come. And, with the days being very cold as well, it means the ground isn't having much chance to thaw out.

Speaking to MillersPlayer about the pitch at Don Valley, Millers Manager, Andy Scott said, 'There's always a doubt and the forecast isn't terrific either with the temperatures for the next two nights forecast to be pretty low. We should know more after tonight.

'If you have two or three nights of frost it stays in the ground and it's harder to thaw out but we are doing what we can but Mother Nature has a way of making sure that your plans get thrown up in the air.

'The ground staff are doing and have done everything they can to make sure that the game will go ahead and we are planning as though the game is going ahead and we will continue to do that until we are told otherwise.'

So, it could be a case of keeping those fingers crossed, looking for four leaved clovers, holding lucky horseshoes and looking around for black cats!
