'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Raynes 'we are working hard'

Rotherham United defender, Michael Raynes insists that, despite the freezing weather, that the team are still working hard.

Not being able to train on the frozen pitches, the team have been doing gym work and the twenty-four year old told the Official Site, 'We've just been for a spin class at the Energie gym which is time spent on a bike, with someone shouting at you telling you to go faster and faster, then turn the resistance up higher and lower. It was a good session and one that really tests you.

'Last week we were at Thomas Rotherham College, but it's quite firm so isn't ideal to be training on too often.'

Raynes was suspended for the postponed game against Torquay on Saturday, so the ban will now take place for the next game played and he said, 'I was doing a lot of extra work with Alasdair Lane and Paul Warne, which included going swimming after training. It wasn't ideal with two reserve games being called off either. Physically and mentally you have to keep yourself in the game for when you're needed, and for me it looks like it will be another two weeks at least.'
