'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Revs looking forward to playing Southend

Rotherham United striker, Alex Revell is keen to put one over his old team on Friday night.

Alex spent two years with Southend, signing from Brighton and Hove Albion in January 2008, making just over forty appearances and scoring four goals. He went from Roots Hall to Wycombe Wanderers then to Leyton Orient before moving to the Millers in the summer.

Speaking to Chris Phillips of The Echo the twenty-eight year old said he was only too aware that the Millers have to get back to winning ways. 'We all feel we`re capable of finishing in the top seven,` Alex said, 'but, for that to happen, we need to win more games starting with Southend on Friday. We have to start performing and that makes Friday a really important game for us.

'It`s a good place to come and play and it`s a game I`m excited about playing in if it goes ahead. My time with the club was a little bit hit and miss but I enjoyed it and I made a lot of good friends down there, many of who still go to watch Southend. It`s a good club and I`m glad they are doing well but I`m a Rotherham player now and I want us to go there and get the points.`
