RUFC - Scott hopeful of game going ahead

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott is confident that tomorrow evenings game at Southend will take place.

As Southend are asking fans to go as soon as possible today and help clear the rest of the pitch, Scott told MillersPlayer, 'As far as we are aware the game isn't a major doubt. They have the thick sheeting covering the pitch and on top of that a big covering of snow which they are getting the fans and helpers in to help move.

'But, to be honest, the temperatures aren't great and we've been hit hard by the frost up here. But, until they clear the snow and take the covers back we won't really know what the state of the pitch is. And the amount of snow they've had down there could be a safety issue as well. So, it's really all about clearing the snow and where they are going to put it. I would imagine there will be some sort of inspection at lunchtime tomorrow but we haven't had any indication that that is the case. With our fans travelling down it's only fair that they get some sort of opinion on the pitch before they leave.

'There's snow forecast tonight and tomorrow morning as well so that will have an impact but we can't assume anything and we are preparing for the game as if it's on.'
