RUFC - Scott 'we've got to be mentally sharp'

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott knows that tonight`s game isn`t going to be easy.

Speaking to MillersPlayer Scott said, 'They did a job on us at Don Valley. They might not have had many shots but they were ruthless in what they did and that`s why they are at the top because they`ve done that for the majority of the season.

'I saw them against Port Vale and, although they didn`t play great, they managed to get a result. They are decent from set-pieces, are organised, strong, powerful and they know their jobs.

'But, they will be disappointed with Saturday. By all accounts the first half was all Southend and they were two-nil up, and could have been more, but they took their foot off the gas in the second half and allowed Plymouth to get back in.

'They`d kept a reasonably settled side until recently when they`ve had a couple of injuries and a couple of suspensions and that seems to have affected them a little bit.

'We know going to Southend on a Friday night is going to be difficult, especially if the conditions make it a bit more tricky as well. But, we shall go there with the same attitude we took to Dagenham and we want to create chances and play as we did and eliminate the opportunities that we gave the opposition. But, we`ve got to be mentally sharp especially from their set-pieces.`
