'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Injury updates

Rotherham United winger, Gareth Evans is on the mend according to Manager, Andy Scott today.

The twenty-three year old was badly injured against Bradford City at Valley Parade in November and, although he's appeared in a couple of games since then, you could tell that he wasn't one hundred per cent fit.

In the last week he has had painkilling injections in his back where the nerve is touching the bone and causing him to have pains in his thigh but today, Scott told MillersPlayer that things are improving.

'He's getting better,' Scott said, 'but it's going to be a little while before we get him back in. We can't afford for him to be lapsing back into injury again so we will be making sure he's right before he comes back. We've been talking to the physio and specialists to make sure he eases back into it.'

Asked about the other long term injured, goalkeeper Jamie Annerson, Scott said, 'Jamie will be involved in the Reserves on Wednesday. He played about twenty minutes in the practice game a couple of weeks ago and did well and he's been training hard. His confidence is back which is important and it might be an opportunity to get him out on loan and get him some game time there.'
