'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Scott 'got ourselves back on track'

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott had nothing but praise for his side tonight after they went eighth in the table after a win over Accrington Stanley at Don Valley.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield, Scott said, 'We were reasonably comfortable but, while it's still one-nil, you are always aware that something could happen though I can't really remember them having a shot at our goal. The back five were excellent tonight and we looked organised and were strong. Their 'keeper made an outstanding save from Shaun (Harrad)'s header. We could have done a little bit better with the ball in areas but we coped against their system extremely well and, with a little bit more quality on the ball we might have scored a few more but the work rate, the effort and the desire were all there.

Everyone contributed tonight. The midfield worked very hard and did the job that was required. Sam Wood worked his socks off and created problems and, alright, sometimes he gave the ball away but he will go and win it back for you. Every single one of them gave everything today. Keiron (Cadogan) did well and put some good crosses in the box and maybe we could have connected better in the box.

'When you don't train so much on grass it starts to take it's toll a little bit but we've had two big wins, two good games and two clean sheets.

The conditions didn't really help. It was a very strong wind that made it a difficult game but we find that a lot here, so to get the opening goal was obviously a big boost to us. Two back-to-back clean sheets is a sign that we are now getting it right and the lads are getting the rewards now that they are due and we've just got to keep that going. We've had to get ourselves back on track and we've done that.'
