RUFC - Scott 'important to have spine in side'

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott says that it's important that you have a solid spine of the team.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield, Scott said, 'Because of injuries and suspensions we haven't had partnerships and it's been difficult to get the same side out every week.

'So, when you get that, and a bit of understanding, you start to build on things which is what we are looking to do. The lads who have been in possession of the shirt have got to keep it and, in the last two games, they've given everything they've got and got the rewards for it.'

Saying that there are plenty of bumps and bruises after the game with Accrington Stanley, Scott said, 'We've got a few days to recover and we'll look after them. We've still got Saturday-Tuesday- Saturday coming up and we've got to make sure that we are right for the game and sometimes training has to take a bit of a back seat and you have to keep them ticking over.

'We've got a reserve game today which will be much needed for some players and so everyone will be match ready for Saturday.'
