RUFC - Be Aware

Rotherham United, as we all know, will soon be moving to the New York Stadium, back in the town - back home.

As the ground has grown in front of our eyes, we`ve all seen photo`s posted in newspapers, the Official Site, football sites and social networking sites as well as artists impressions of what the new stadium will look like. And, we`ve all been eager to 'gobble up` anything that we could find.

And rightly so - we`ve waited a long, long time for this.

Over the past few weeks I`ve noticed merchandise appearing on the streets of Rotherham and in pubs around Don Valley with some of the afore mentioned photo`s on and have even purchased a couple myself as keepsakes - which, thinking about it, was probably not the right thing to do - but it`s the excitement isn`t it! Really, we should all wait until the official merchandise arrives in the shops before we start spending our money.

Vital Rotherham have been asked to spread the word to anyone who is thinking of trying to make a pound or two by producing and selling unofficial Rotherham United merchandise, please not to do it.

The club will come down hard on anyone they find selling anything unofficial and have warned that there will be severe repercussions which could include a life ban from the new ground and if a season ticket holder, their season ticket confiscated.

So please, be aware - and don`t do it.
